EDITOR’S PICK: I Spy, With My Little Eye….MyShoppingSpy.com

MyShoppingSpy

Whether you’re dreaming of your next overseas adventure or you just want a taste of London fashion, UK directory MyShoppingSpy is a nifty way to get your fix online.

Mixing the best of travel and shopping, fashion site MyShoppingSpy is a hand-selected directory to guide you through London’s flagship high street stores, quirky designers and independent boutiques.

The site is the ultimate insider’s guide to shopping in London, with handy maps, special offers and the latest on sample sales. Money-saving and time-saving.

It’s constantly updated and easy to use, so you’re always in the loop when it comes to travel and fashion plans. (Lonely Planet eat your heart out!)

The site is the first of what is expected to be many, with Berlin and Paris to roll out in early 2012 and other European cities to join later in the year. Unfortunately, no word yet on whether an Australian version is in the pipeline.

If your Christmas break isn’t taking you to London (sigh), the good news is that the sales section features the promo codes for some pretty enticing online options.

If you are lucky enough to have a trip to London in your future, the My Spy area allows users to build and manage their own profiles, add shops to their favourites list, manage reviews and plan a tailor-made shopping trip in London. (Even if you’re not heading overseas, there’s no harm in planning an ideal shopping vacation…is there?)

The blog quotes Karl Lagerfield saying: ‘I think they should make a tax so that when you earn a certain amount of money, you have to spend a certain amount on shopping. To buy whatever… And that way, we create tons of jobs. I think it’s a good idea. What I hate is people with a lot of money who don’t spend it.’

So shopping is really a public service, when you think about it. (Ok, you might have to think really hard about it.)

Fancy a shopping tour? Anyone?
