Who knew that eBay has very quietly thrown its hat into the group buying game? Miss Terry Shopper has a gander at the new site!
In the course of doing a bit of online retail therapy, of course under the guise of researching for our upcoming Leveraging Marketplaces special report, imagine my surprise and delight at discovering that eBay has now also thrown its hat into the group buying ring!
Working much the same as other group buying sites, the eBay Group Deals site caught my eye for it’s current offer, a SONY Cybershot DSCS2000S Digital Camera 10.1MP for $45 – of course the deal is sold out.
Something which piqued my interest at purchasing this deal, other than the price (of course), is that I can check out the seller’s credentials, a factor which I always take into consideration when purchasing from the auction site.
There are however some tight conditions on who can purchase these deals, namely ‘your eBay account must be in good standing with no buying restrictions in order for you to be eligible to buy an eBay Group Deal item’, or ‘if you do not meet the criteria dictated in the seller’s buyer preferences/restrictions, you will not be able to make an offer to that seller’.
Hope my account is good order, because I’ll certainly be adding eBay Group Deals to my ever-growing list of daily deals emails!
