After long deliberation over quality nominations, the shortlisting process is now complete for this year’s StarTrack Online Retail Industry Awards finalists. Here are the 2015 finalists.
Next month sees one of the most highly anticipated events pop up in the online retailer’s calendar, the Online Retail Industry Awards (ORIAs).
Now in its sixth year, the gala presentation is designed to shine a spotlight and honour the hard work and expertise of Australia and New Zealand’s vibrant and innovative multichannel and e-retailers. This year, the 2015 StarTrack ORIAs welcomes a new set of amazing award categories including Best International Conqueror and Best Bootstrapped Growth Initiative.
“Choosing finalists this year was brutal – a diverse range of high quality entries in every category made selecting finalists difficult,” said Grant Arnott, Senior Judge and Publisher, Power Retail. “Online retailers are ticking more of the best practice boxes than ever and it’s exciting to see, but challenging to separate the best. Retailers are definitely moving the needle on digital, social and mobile – we’re seeing some great improvement in all areas.
“The biggest movement between last year and this year was the embracing of mobile and social with unprecedented fervour. Having established top quality desktop shopping experiences, retailers are really targeting mobile and social commerce in a much more targeted and intelligent way.”
Alice Kuepper, Exhibition Director at Reed Exhibitions says: “StarTrack ORIAs honours entrepreneurial excellence and recognises positive contribution to the development of online innovation and retail. Submissions this year have been exceptionally high which reminds us how these awards continue to drive the industry forward.”
StarTrack’s General Manager Marketing, Customer Experience and Business Development, Theo Triantafillides said: “As the leading provider of delivery services for online retailers, StarTrack is proud to sponsor the ORIAs. We’re excited to see such a diverse group of People’s Choice Award finalists coming from different industry groups including fashion, wine and technology.
“At StarTrack and Australia Post, we’re passionate about delivering great customer service and creating leading e-commerce logistics and supply chain solutions for our customers and the community. It’s clear Australians have wholeheartedly embraced online shopping and I’d like to thank the thousands of shoppers who voted for their favourite online store.”
The finalists were announced today, Wednesday, June 17th, at The Ivy Sunroom, followed by networking drinks. While there’s plenty of buzz surrounding these prestigious announcements, the hype is definitely more focused on the gala presentation in July, where the cream of the retail crop will convene to celebrate achievements in the industry.
Categories for nominees include Best Pureplay Online Retailer, Best Multichannel Retailer, Best New Online Retailer, Best Social Commerce Initiative, Best International Conqueror, Best Small Online Retailer, Best In-Store Initiative, Best Bootstrapped Growth Initiative, Best Online Retail Marketing Initiative, Best Online Customer Service, Best Site Optimisation and Design, Best Mobile Commerce Site/Application, Industry Recognition Award, Online Retailer of the Year and the first ever People’s Choice Award.
Timed to coincide with the annual Online Retailer Conference and eCommerce Expo – which will be held at Dockside, Darling Harbour in Sydney 22nd-23rd July this year – the gala evening is the perfect event to network with industry peers as well as see just what the best of the best in the industry are achieving.
