Amazon Adapts: Launching Members Only Deals Site

Amazon launches member-only private sales site, MyHabit, offering discounted designer brands, intermixed with the most innovative online retail technology.

Following in the footsteps of other members-only based private sales sites, such as Gilt Group , HauteLook and Rue La La and leveraging the success of this business model, Amazon has launched MyHabit in the US, which will feature sales on a selection of designer and boutique brands discounted up to 60%.

Created in response to customers’ desires to shop intelligently, the site offers free membership, free shipping and returns on orders within the U.S.

Amazon proposes the site as ‘a unique destination within the private sale space… by merging the most innovative technology in the online retail space with a serious focus on style’. The sales will be offered on a daily basis and be available for 72 hours.

Speaking to Internet Retailer, Maria Renz, President of the newly launched site said, “MyHabit gives fashion customers an elegant and easy-to-use online destination for private-sale shopping. Couple that with a curated selection of the best brands, free shipping and free returns, and new features like 360-degree video footage, and MyHabit sets a new standard in service, convenience and product presentation.”
