eBay Australia and New Zealand has just announced its new Managing Director, with outgoing boss Jooman Park appointed to be Senior Vice President APAC.
eBay Inc has appointed Tim Mackinnon to Managing Director eBay Australia & New Zealand following the appointment of Jooman Park to Senior Vice President (SVP) APAC last month.
“Tim has a fantastic track record within the eBay Australia and New Zealand business having lead both the Seller and Marketing teams during his 6 and a half year tenure in the Sydney office,” said Park. “Tim is well-known to the Australian eBay seller community and is well-respected by them for his deep e-commerce insight and partnership.”
“When I moved to Sydney 4 years ago, I set out to help define a new Australian retail landscape by successfully partnering with businesses and establishing online retail standards,” continued Mr Park. “I am delighted with the progress the team has made and I know that Tim is the right leader to help guide the business as the e-commerce landscape in Australia continues to evolve.”
“The Australian e-commerce industry is entering a new, exciting period for businesses and consumers alike,” said Mackinnon. “eBay has been here since the earliest days helping to pioneer the industry, supporting Australian businesses to seize opportunities and providing consumers with great deals. It is a great responsibility to continue to grow the 40,000 Australian businesses on the eBay platform, grow the careers of our employees and help three in five Australian consumers to save money.”
It has been a massive year for Tim Mackinnon. He was appointed Chief Marketing Officer earlier this year following the departure of long-time CMO Steve Brennen. Mackinnon first joined eBay in 2011, and prior to that he worked in corporate strategy and market entry for Intuit based in Mountain View, California.
Mackinnon takes over from Park, who has held the role as head of eBay Australia and New Zealand since March 2013.
