Click Frenzy Takes Hold, 550 Retailers Register (and Counting)

Since going to market officially last week, 24 hour online sale event Click Frenzy, Australia’s answer to Cyber Monday, has received an overwhelming response from retailers, the media and consumers.

If ever anyone has any doubt about the strength of online shopping in Australia, Click Frenzy will put them to rest.

Australia’s first national annual online sale event, inspired by Cyber Monday and an initiative of Power Retail, has captured the attention of retailers, the media and consumers. This week has been quite the frenzy already, with over 550 retailers registering interest. The group represents a solid mix of high profile multichannel retail brands, established pureplays and emerging retailers.

Come 7pm, November 20, 2012, both consumers and participating retailers are in for a wild 24 hour Click Frenzy, shopping deals across 10 categories including Fashion; Health & Beauty; Electrical & Appliances; Home, Outdoor, & Auto; Travel & Leisure; Music, Books & Video; Office & School; Food & Liquor; and Sports & Recreation.

An article syndicated across the Fairfax news network on Monday sparked a further stampede of retailer, consumer and media interest, with more publicity to come. It is a glowing endorsement for the interest in online retail, and a chance for local retailers to show that Australia is a force in online retail, not a laggard.
