Group buying site, OfferMe, and Online Media Group announce a partnership to help bricks and mortar retailers start selling in the digital space.
Group buying platform, OfferMe, and Online Media group (OMG), who operate www.business.com.au, announced a partnership to help Australia’s retailers to capitalise on the skyrocketing online retail market.
An online e-commerce platform that allows consumers to source products from a range of sellers, while providing accessible and affordable online presence to sellers, OfferMe will utilise Business.com.au’s wide ranging access to products and services in order to assist those Australian retailers without an online or e-commerce avenue to get onto the web quickly, build a successful online store and capture some of the estimated $34 billion worth of online retail sales forecast for 2012/13.
“In talking with Business.com.au, we found a partner who understands that it is not just about individual retailers trying to operate alone online and that by harnessing their joint power through directories, and in OfferME’s case, an online shopping centre, we can create destinations that attract and exceed the expectations of Australia’s online consumers,” said James Wang, CEO of OfferMe.
Wang believes that by providing the tools, support and platform required for retailers to collectively offer their products on the web, this new affiliation will help Australian domestic retailers to compete effectively in the e-commerce retail space.
The OfferMe online shopping centre now has over 80 retailers across a range of vertical sectors including computers and phone accessories to bikes, musical equipment, manchester and home wares. Customers can purchase products from a variety of the site’s stores with a single transaction. The system also has built-in customer service and support mechanisms that allow shoppers to rate individual stores, and let retailers know which products they want to feature in a group buy deal.
“Our job is to help [Australian] retailers build an online sales channel and to make it easy for them to attract traffic to their stores,” continued Wang.

I thought OMG was an abbreviation of Online Marketing Group not Online Media Group?
