MyDeal Wins Optus Online Retail Award

 On Friday, 10th November, The Optus My Business Awards revealed its winners for 2017 awards at the Westin Sydney, with MyDeal taking out the e-commerce award.

Attributing to this, is the marketplace’s growth over the past twelve months, doubling its financial year revenue from $15 million to $35 million. Additionally, MyDeal was named Australia’s sixth fastest growing company in the AFR Fast 100 List.

In the past year, MyDeal has engaged in a major diversification strategy, industry leadership and innovation – expanding its reach in the market with the aim of securing its position as one of Australia’s leading retail marketplaces and technology platforms.

Each strategy has been driven by market trends, according to the company’s CEO and founder Sean Senvirtne, saying “internal data has enabled MyDeal to stay aligned to the Australian consumer”.

In October 2017, MyDeal introduced small business loans offering MyDeal Marketplace Loans to support its existing retailers’ growth. Shortly after, the company launched an Australian online fashion marketplace, MyWardrobe, for boutique and pureplay fashion retailers, and most recently, it ventured into the travel sector with an exclusive partnership with Ignite Travel Group, launching MyDeal Getaways.

MyDeal has also been involved in hosting industry initiatives establishing the Australia’s Top 50 Influencer Awards in early 2017, which saw it win the Online Retail Industry Award for Best Initiative, as well as launching The Australian E-Commerce Marketplace Summit earlier this year.
