With more than 30,000 stores showcased on its online platform, Aussie Mega Mall has launched for Australian retailers only which it hopes will provide a boost of exposure to local online stores.
Aussie Mega Mall has been created as a fight back against the huge number of foreign stores coming into Australia and buying their way to the top of search engines,” according to the company’s CEO and founder, Darryl Reeves.
“In a growing number of categories of retail it is now getting difficult to get an Australian retailer on the first or second page of search engines. We aim to stop this because it’s detrimental to Australian businesses and unfavourable for Australian people.”
E-commerce growth in Australia is showing no signs of slowing down. According to the lastest NAB Online Retail Sales Index, Australians spent an estimated $24 billion on online retail over a 12-month period to November 2017, with 14.4 percent year-on-year growth.
The Aussie Mega Mall says it’s dedicated to Australian retailers only. The site features a touch interactive design with no typing required, catering for the rapid increase in shopping via hand-held devices. Reeves says that all listed retailers can be found on page one of the aisle of a shopper’s choosing, with the platform looking and operating like an app. Currently, the Aussie Mega Mall supports eight payment methods, including credit card, PayPal, WeChat Pay, ApplePay, and AfterPay to name a few.
Every online store listed on the platform has their own digital business card enabling shoppers to share with friends and family which the company hopes will provide a boost of exposure to Australian e-commerce businesses. Additionally, shoppers are able to create their own mini mall inside Aussie Mega Mall enabling quicker access to their favourite stores online.
Reeves says that every online Australian store from large corporations to the small at home store can be showcased on the site for no cost, with the only qualification being that they must be an Australian online store.
