Ozsale Reaches Two Million Member Milestone

Private shopping club Ozsale has hit the two million member mark, highlighting the appeal of the flash sales e-commerce model to Australian shoppers.
APAC Sale Group, owner of members-only shopping club Ozsale today announced that it has passed the two-million member mark. Australia’s first private online shopping club, Ozsale has offered members access to exclusive sales and discounts since 2007 and has enjoyed substantial growth alongside the online retail boom.
“We have more than two million members, over 5,500 new members signing up each day and exponential sales growth which saw our revenue grow by more than 300% for the last financial year,” said Carl Jackson, CEO of the APAC Sale Group. “It’s a very exciting time for Ozsale.com.au in Australia and the APAC Sale Group in the region.”
Ozsale was also named the country’s leading website for Shopping and Classifieds – Apparel and Accessories, based on market share of Australian internet visits by Experian Hitwise.
“Consumer interest in the category and our brand shows no sign of slowing down,” said Jackson. “Last month, the APAC Sale Group websites attracted more than 83 million page views and 2.27 million unique browsers. Ozsale.com.au alone received 1.55 million unique views.’
“In the last two years, we’ve seen remarkable growth as more consumers embrace the online retail experience and more brands realise the benefits of inventory management through this distribution channel.”
The APAC Sale Group expanded into Asia in 2011, launching Singsale, a Singapore-based members-only shopping club heavily based on its Australian model. The company has continued with its Asian expansion, spearheading Mysale in Malaysia in April 2011.
“Our customers say that we trust OzSale because it makes available branded products. We don’t import products out of China, with no label – we source brands that a customer knows and trusts and make them available at a great discount,” Jackson said in an interview with Power Retail.
