Showpo Launches in LA

Showpo held its official US launch in LA last month, where invitees including TV and media personalities saw it attract plenty of media attention there. The company is setting itself up for US and global expansion.

LA was the obvious choice for Showpo to host its official US launch event, according to Jane Lu, the company’s founder and CEO. “It’s a hub full of celebrities and influencers who we want to love Showpo. Wherever the celebs go, the media will follow, so we knew that by having a few key faces at the event, press coverage would be certain.”

The launch event was held at NeueHouse Hollywood, which is a popular LA hotspot with iconic skyline views of palm trees and the sunset. Following this, Lu says she hopes to see Showpo become the ‘go-to place to shop’ for women there and all around the world. “Cracking the US market is (obviously, given the market size) a huge part of that.”

Showpo says its target market is young and fun, which is synonymous with the Los Angeles scene – the company’s PR team, US warehouse, and buyer are all based in LA, “so it just made perfect sense for us to launch officially there,” explains Lu.

With such a significant portion of Showpo’s social media following being US-based and having the human resources on the ground running in LA, Lu expects to see sales there continue to increase month-on-month. “With US sales already accounting for 20% of our orders, it’s already beating our expectations, which is super exciting!”

Showpo’s LA-based 3PL warehouse has been in action for a few months now has improved customer service dramatically, according to Lu. “Given Australia is so far away, having a warehouse in LA results in customers getting orders quicker, and returns can be processed in a more timely manner. The US warehouse stocks best-selling items, country specific styles and locally sourced stock.” Some items still ship from Australia, but Showpo offers free international shipping, “so customers don’t mind waiting a week for certain items”.

Showpo specifically targets its campaigns towards hemispheres, social media domination and content that women around the world can relate to. “The best thing about social media is that utilising it properly means that you connect with anyone you want, all over the world. With such a dedicated, passionate team bringing our customers fun, affordable fashion and an engaging online tribe to be a part of – world domination isn’t an ‘if’, more of a ‘when’,” adds Lu.
