Australian online wine retailer Vinomofo has announced a new partnership with Australia Post that will see it offering same day and customisable delivery options to its consumers.
Vinomofo will formally kick off its new partnership at the end of September, when Australia Post will begin standard delivery operations nationwide, followed by a roll out of same day and customisable delivery services ahead of Christmas, for customers living in metro areas.
The distribution come after a complete overhaul of the company’s logistics which saw Vinomofo secure their own warehouse in Port Melbourne at the end of last year. The new customisable delivery options will allow customers to choose the day and time of their delivery.
Vinomofo’s co-Founder and joint chief executive, Andre Eikmeier, says the partnership with Australia Post has come at the right time. “We’ve wanted to offer this service to our mofos for a long time now, but we couldn’t find a distribution company that could handle the volume of orders and guarantee the level of service we were after.”
“Australia Post has really improved their delivery offering ahead of the arrival of Amazon, so it’s pretty exciting that our mofos can order a case of wine on a Friday morning and be drinking it come Friday afternoon. That’s the kind of world I’d like to live in.”
The new partnership is set to strengthen Vinomofo’s offering in Australia and challenge same-day small batch and single bottle alcohol delivery services currently operating across the east coast.
Vinomofo is committed to increasing its online offering, only last month unveiling its new ‘The Club’ subscription service, giving its consumers the opportunity to throw the “What shall I drink tonight?” decision-making to its wine buyers, who select 12 wines, to be delivered to them as frequently as they like. The subscription service also allows shoppers to personalise their Club based on their wine preferences.
