REVEALED: Power Retail’s 2019 All Star Bash Category Finalists

April Davis By April Davis | 30 Jan 2019

With this year’s All Star Bash just around the corner, Power Retail has revealed its award finalists, which include big names like Catch, THE ICONIC and Woolworths, as well as smaller players such as Hunting for George and TinyMe.

Each year, Power Retail recognises Australia’s Top 100 Online Retailers and also announces category winners at its All Star Bash event. In 2019, the event is set to be bigger than ever before, with the industry’s leading retailers and solution providers gathering in Melbourne to see who takes out the coveted top spot – No. 1 Online Retailer.

Who will win this year? We’re one step closer to finding out, as the official award finalists have now been released.

More Awards Than Ever Before

In 2018 there were 12 awards. In 2019 there are 18. This has opened up the door for brands like Officeworks, Birdsnest, Showpo, ASOS and Catch to be recognised for their ingenious marketing initiatives, while deserving businesses will also be recognised as the Top Click Frenzy seller and for having the top Site User Experience.

Some names come up repeatedly in this year’s list of finalists, as brands like Catch show the Australian market how to leave a mark on the online retail community. This year, Catch has been nominated for a number of awards, including No. 1 Online Retailer, Top Customer Rating, Hot Innovator, Fast Movers and Top E-Commerce Group, as well as Top Native App and Top Marketing Initiative.

Catch has run a number of strong initiatives in the last 12-months.

ASOS, THE ICONIC, Naked Wines and Woolworths have also popped up under multiple award categories, which is a testament to each of these companies’ efforts in the online realm over the last 12-months.

Recognising the Big and the Small

While big players like Woolworths, Coles, THE ICONIC and ASOS have undoubtedly left a mark on the Australian industry; this year’s category finalists also encompass some of the country’s best performing smaller retailers.

The event will include an award for Punching Above Their Weight, which recognises brands that are achieving great things despite having fewer resources than some of the Top 100’s larger cross-channel brands. In 2019, Princess Polly, FitMyCar, Hunting for George, Flora & Fauna and TinyMe have all made the shortlist.
