Thousands of eager consumers rushed to the Click Frenzy website hoping to snag a bargain at this year’s Mayhem sale.
As one of the largest online shopping events of the year, it’s no surprise that Click Frenzy Mayhem broke a few records when it launched last night.
The online sale included some massive discounts and crazy ‘Go Nuts’ deals such as a Samsung S10E Phones for $12, Apple Watches for $6 and a Nespresso Machines for $2, among others. Mayhem offers discounts across categories in fashion, beauty, tech, homewares and travel. Some products boasted 99 per cent off the retail price.
This year’s event hosted the highest number of retailers in its history, with more than 450 brands securing their spots in the Mayhem sale. It also experienced a 45 per cent boost in traffic at the halfway point to retailers compared with the same time in 2018. The blockbuster event had some new faces in the mix this year, including Swedish homeware giant IKEA, Aussie accessory label Mimco, fashion giant Gorman, speaker specialist Bose and many more.
According to a recent study by Criteo, in 2018, sales saw an increase from eight per cent to 45 per cent during the week of Click Frenzy alone, with conversion rates lifting from ten per cent to 15 per cent in that same week. Criteo analysed traffic and sales data from 56 million e-commerce transactions from 151 Australian retailers and released the following statistics from Click Frenzy in 2018. As the Click Frenzy Mayhem sale continues, it’s expected to smash a few more records along the way. As the popularity of Click Frenzy grows, so does the Australian e-commerce industry. Currently valued at over $23 billion, the Australian e-commerce industry is set to hit more than $40 billion in the next three years.
Customers can still enjoy exclusive discounts such as up to 50 per cent off Bose Headphones, up to 50 per cent off selected IKEA products, 55 per cent off Sony OLED TVs and many more. AfterPay and ShopBack are also available for Click Frenzy shoppers this year. The sale ends on Wednesday, 22nd May at midnight.
