It’s happened again… and yea it’s kind of a big deal. The party of the year, Power Retail’s All Star Bash kicked off this evening to recognise and celebrate the stars of online retail in Australia and New Zealand.
The cream of Australian online retailers gathered at Margaret Court Arena in Melbourne on Thursday 15th February for the most anticipated event on the Australian retail calendar, Power Retail’s 2018 All Star Bash.
In its third year running, Power Retail revealed the Top 100 Australian online retailer list which coincided with the launch of the 2018 E-Commerce Leaders’ Playbook, now available for purchase.
Building on the success of previous years, Power Retail dialled things up a bit this year to epic proportions – new venue, new theatrics and entertainment and the scope of the ranking criteria for the Top 100 was also broadened.
Highlights of the evening included the All Star Bash “Walk of Champions”, similar to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which featured the names of the Top 100 online retailers starred on the walkway as guests made their way to the main arena.
Comedy act Wil Anderson brought the house down with laughter while Naomi Robson MC’d the evening. Dancers from Katumba Entertainment amused the crowd with theatrical acrobatics and they cheered the stars of online retail as the Top 100 retailer list was announced.
Power Retail’s publisher Grant Arnott took to the stage near the conclusion of the evening to announce the winners of this year’s All Star Bash.
“The third Power Retail All Star Bash was our biggest and best ever, celebrating the All Stars of online retail in a Grand Slam arena,” he said. “We’ve made a lot of changes for 2018, including a revamped methodology for the Power Retail Top 100 rankings focused more on the customer experience than size and volume.”
“It’s a huge undertaking each year and this list is more comprehensive than ever, including the next 50, expanding the list to 150, and a number of special recognitions for category-specific performance. It’s been an epic night in an awesome venue and I congratulate all of the Top 100 retailers this year. I also want to thank the retailers, sponsors and industry professionals whose efforts and contributions have made Australia’s leading e-commerce data rankings possible.”
