Melbourne-based startup, Fulfilio, has announced the release of its new warehousing and fulfillment service, which is targeted towards helping Australian businesses provide consumers with same day deliveries in metropolitan areas.

The service will provide a national end-to-end service for Australian e-commerce businesses, allowing them to store and ship their products through Australia Post’s vast delivery network.

“Australian consumers are expecting faster and more cost-effective delivery options, which unless your business has multiple warehouses, is simply not an option,” says Fulfilio’s CEO, Mathew Galt.

According to research conducted by Australia Post, revenue generated through online sales increased by 19.2 percent last year, with this figure expected to continue to grow.

The launch of this new pack and ship service comes only weeks after Amazon announced the release of its own Australian order fulfillment centre, which also allows sellers to improve their delivery services through the retail giant’s logistics centre.

Galt believes Fulfilio will be able to help local businesses meet growing online demand, while also providing shoppers with extra services such as custom packaging and free returns.

The startup has already found success with Illegal Tender, a rum distillery based in Western Australia, with the company’s Director, Codie Palmer claiming the service has already allowed his business to serve a national customer base.

“It gives me more time and flexibility to focus on building the business,” says Palmer.

Australia Post is currently backing two startups, with smart parcel locker provider, Receva, also receiving support. Fulfilio currently has fulfillment centres in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and Perth.
