In what is set to be a huge year for online retailing, retailers turn out in force for Power Retail’s first 2011 Melbourne Plugged IN event, kindly sponsored by ChannelAdvisor.
If the year’s first Melbourne Plugged IN was anything to go by, 2011 will be a game-changing year for online and multichannel retailers. Last night’s event saw over 50 retailers, agency representatives and e-commerce aficionados connect and spark inspired debate against the backdrop of QV’s Three Degrees.
“We’d like to thank ChannelAdvisor for being our first principal Plugged IN sponsor this year,” says Grant Arnott, Editor and Publisher of Power Retail. “ChannelAdvisor is a foundation client, right there from the start when we launched six months ago. It’s a great product and really delivers value for online retailers looking to extend their marketplace reach and increase their customer base, so it made sense for us to partner in an effort to further improve education on the potential of e-commerce for all retail businesses.”
The night featured live site reviews and insights from ChannelAdvisor’s Mark Gray, Managing Director AsiaPacific and Christopher Morley, Business Development Manager. The presentation highlighted local and international e-commerce trends and valuable tips for enhancing your customer experience.
The 60-strong crowd represented the full gamut of the online retail industry with representation from a high profile brands in multichannel and pureplay online retailing. The Melbourne was the first stop in the 2011 series for the city, with the Sydney Plugged IN event held at The Establishment last week.
Designed to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange about online retailing issues, Plugged IN is fast becoming a fixture in the industry calendar.
