Cue Introduces ‘Style Finder’ for Mobile Shopping

The fashion retailers new visual search tool allows shoppers to upload images directly from their phone or take a photo of an item they would like to purchase, which will direct consumers to the same, or similar product online.

Shane Lenton, the company’s chief information officer says the technology has been developed to improve customer experience, and cater to the increasing number of shoppers that are visiting the retailer’s online store from a mobile device.

“Mobile purchases are our number one source of online revenue, with up to 70 percent of traffic to our website coming from mobile devices,” Lenton says.

The technology used to develop this new feature on the company’s mobile site was reportedly developed in collaboration with Alibaba Cloud, the cloud computing division of Alibaba Group.

“Innovation is at the core of everything we do at Cue, so we are always looking for ways to embrace new technologies and improve the customer shopping experience,” he says.

“This technology is just the start of what we’re working on at Cue, and we’re looking forward to introducing exciting new innovations over the next few months.”

Cue’s new mobile shopping feature, Style Finder, officially launched online on Wednesday and is reportedly the first technology of its kind to operate solely from a mobile site, and not a shopping app.
