Kogan has announced its plans to run a two-day mega sale that will reportedly feature exclusive deals that will only be available for hours at a time.
In a move that mimics November’s annual Click Frenzy event, Kogan.com has announced a ‘surprise’ sale that’s due to start Wednesday morning at 9 am. The company detailed its plans in an email, saying “hero deals will be available for only a few short hours to customers who subscribe to alerts.”
Outside of its ‘featured’ deals, Kogan says it will have specials on more than 300 products across its site that will be available for the duration of the sale, or until items sell out.
According to the company’s Founder and CEO, Ruslan Kogan, the sale is the e-tailer’s way of picking up its game in the lead up to what is typically the busiest time of the year for retailers.
“We’re proud to bring Aussies the most in-demand products and services at an affordable price all the time, and this sale is our way of kicking this up a notch,” he said.
While the company has remained tight-lipped about what items will be up for grabs, it has said that one of its ‘exclusive’ sale items will be a KitchenAid Bowl Lift Stand Mixer + Bonus Ice Cream Maker for $399, down from $1148. The sale is also expected to include branded products across the household and entertainment categories, including TVs and mobile phone plans.
The tail-end of the year is usually a big month for online sales, with Click Frenzy, Cyber Monday and Black Friday all taking place in November. Kogan, in particular, has been known to run competing sales events with its online competitors, with its most recent one taking place at the same time as Amazon Australia’s first ever Prime Day. During Amazon’s first annual members-only sale, the e-tailer offered extended free shipping, as well as end of financial year deals.
