Two of Australia’s leading Online Retailers were awarded accolades at last night’s NSW Telstra Business Awards. Who took out the gong?
After consecutive years of being finalists, Booktopia took home two prizes last night at the state Telstra Business Awards, winning the Medium Sized Business award and the NSW Business of the Year Award.
By focusing purely on books, Booktopia has been able to carve out its niche in the Australian marketplace. Chief Executive Officer, Tony Nash added, “When Amazon is everything to everyone, we decided to be one thing to one vertical market and do it extremely well.”
This award comes off the back end of Booktopia winning the Best Pureplay Online Retailer at the Online Retail Industry Awards last month. CEO Tony Nash was also acknowledged for his hard work and dedication to the industry as he was awarded the Industry Recognition Award.
Fellow pureplay, Flora & Fauna was also acknowledged at last night’s awards, being awarded the 2018 Best Small & Succeeding Business Award in NSW. Founder and CEO Julie Mathers relayed her excitement about the win to Power Retail, “This is a huge win for us, the team, our partners and our customers. It is a humbling moment that really does reward us for everything we’ve strived towards over the past four years.”
Flora & Fauna were also acknowledged at the Online Retail Industry Awards, winning Best Small Independent Retailer for 2018.
The National Telstra Business Awards will be held in Melbourne on September 20.
