The Iconic Invests in Leadership to Kick Off 2014

Australian online fashion retailer, The Iconic has announced a decision to increase its senior leadership team with the appointment of a CFO, Marketing Director and Head of Customer Retention.

While the pureplay retailer came under fire last year for moving part of its customer service requirements offshore, The Iconic has shrugged off criticism in favour of continuing its strategic growth plans. As such, the three new appointments align with the business’s needs for the journey ahead.

CEO Patrick Schmidt believes the retailer has a solid opportunity to expand and consolidate its market position – a position that has been established and defended since The Iconic’s launch in October 2011.

“We have an amazing team which constantly wants to push the boundaries in customer experience and these appointments, with their extensive experience and impressive track records, reinforce that commitment. With more than 1 million orders, 250, 000 iOS app downloads and a 90 percent net promoter score rating, we are in a great position to take e-commerce to the next level in Australia,” he said.

The Iconic’s New Leaders:

Adrian Gribbin – Gribbin joins as CFO having previously worked at the UK-based Freeserve, before going on to work as CFO and Head of Operations for the local footwear pureplay, Styletread. Gribbin is a chartered accountant who originally qualified with PWC.

Clare Zacka – Previously of brandsExclusive, Zacka is now Head of Customer Retention for The Iconic. Zacka’s own experience covers consumer loyalty marketing and customer relationship management.

Not much previous success on the resumes of these new execs. Style Tread, and Brands Exclusive both commercial failures and Westfield is not really a trail blazer when it comes to online retail. I would of thought they would of gone for some people with some wins on the board.
