Zulily has announced its first ‘Thrill Week’ shopping event, where it claims it will “wow” consumers with exclusive deals like $5,000 shopping sprees for only $10.
The online deals site has unveiled plans to offer customers a new wardrobe for the cost of a scarf, discount vacations and site-wide shopping sprees with its new “surprise-filled” shopping event.
“Zulily’s 6.1 million active customers love the thrill they get when they find that special deal,” said Kevin Saliba, SVP of Marketing, Zulily.
“With a 91 percent repeat order rate, we know our passionate customers enjoy their daily dose of discovery, which is why we wanted to give back in a big way by launching our biggest sale of the year in celebration of thrill seekers everywhere.
Zulily launches its first Thrill Week shopping event.
“Each day during Zulily Thrill Week, shoppers can browse the ‘door buster-sized’ deals our team has curated from brands like KitchenAid, Crayola, Cuisinart, Klean Kanteen, cabi and more.”
From July 23-27, Zulily will reportedly offer exclusive deals from a number of its leading boutique brands at “unbelievably low prices”. Over the course of the week, the e-tailer says it will offer limited “Dashes for the Deal”, while one shopper per day will scoop up what’s been dubbed “The Big Thrill”.
Using social media and website clues, shoppers will have the opportunity to sale items at low prices. Once the ‘Big Thrill’ for the day is available, three clues will be scattered across social media and the e-tailer’s website, leading one lucky buyer to thousands of dollars worth of goods for as little as $10.
The first Big Thrill for the week will be a vacation for two to an undisclosed location for $15, followed by a “dream kitchen refresh” for $40 on Tuesday, and a $2,000 cabi wardrobe for $10 on Wednesday.
On Thursday, July 26 another holiday will be up for grabs, but this time for a whole family for $30, followed by the last Big Thrill of the week – a $5,000 Zulily e-Gift Card for $10.
While the Big Thrill deals will only go to one person each day, the business is also running daily Dash for the Deal specials, where consumers will have a few hours to grab cheap products, including designer sunglasses for $29.99 and cashmere shawls for $19.99.
Online shoppers who visit the site every day during the sale (Monday, July 23 until Friday, July 27) will also go in the draw to win one of 100 shopping sprees valued at $150. These prizes will reportedly be drawn at random.
Available to customers across America, Zulily’s new event will launch one week after Amazon’s Prime Day sale.
Amazon’s annual Prime Day event kicked off across the globe on Monday, but wasn’t without drama, as the American marketplace reportedly crashed, leaving Prime members unable to shop the advertised deals.
“Shop all deals loop has been a complete Prime disaster. Are you planning on rescheduling or should I just cancel my Prime membership now?” One Twitter user wrote, while others complained about glitches with their shopping carts and error messages when they tried to load the site.
Despite being a worldwide site, Zulily says its Thrill Week shopping event will only be open to US customers, with the potential for the sale to expand in future years should it succeed.
